On the Dotted Line is a razor-sharp, contemporary comedy inspired by Anton Chekhov’s lesser-known plays The Anniversary and short story In Trouble. Set in the high-stakes world of modern finance, the play follows the spiralling chaos inside a troubled bank on the brink of collapse. As a scandal brews, power players scramble to maintain control, reputation, and relevance—while secrets unravel, disguises slip, and absurdities mount. At its heart is Tatiana, a woman caught between multiple identities as she attempts to save her husband and their crumbling empire.
Blending farce, satire, and moments of emotional depth, On the Dotted Line exposes the theatre of capitalism, where every crisis is an opportunity, and every signature could be your undoing. With nods to Chekhov’s wit and a sharply modern lens, the play asks: in a world built on performance, who’s really watching—and who’s pulling the strings?
